Abbey and Nick always loved the Williamsburg Winery and knew when they got engaged that they wanted to bring their loved ones back to Williamsburg, Virginia for their wedding. Being that Abbey and Nick were in Northern Va and Abbey’s mom was in Arizona, they knew they needed someone on the ground in Williamsburg who could help. That’s when they called us to handle full planning & design. And gosh was it fun!
We spent about a year and a half to bring their wedding vision to life! We brought in Jess, with Fleurish and Bloom to adorn the tables, chandeliers, and stairwell with all the greenery and lush florals. We partnered with Blue Steel Lighting to do something we had never done before, drape the back of the Winery to bring in a softer, more elegant vibe. It was truly a stunning day.
The day was such an emotional and beautiful day! Abbey and Jess really connected on the fact that they both had lost their dads. Jess knew she was going to be a mess on the wedding day. Abbey shared with Jess that her dad was a pilot and it gave her such peace and comfort knowing that the planes were going over their wedding. Minutes before their wedding ceremony started, a plane flew over, and Jess knew it was a sign that Abbey’s dad was with her. Yes, we were bawling as we opened the ceremony doors and sent our girl, Abbey, down the aisle!
Hey Y'all, I'm Jess, founder and executive designer of Wedding Company of Virginia. Wedding Co. was created on a pipe dream and a $500 check from my now, hubby. I always worked in hospitality. My love for wedding planning began when I was just seventeen. After years of executing both corporate events and planning weddings within local resorts and even College of William & Mary, Wedding Co. grew beyond a one employee business and I went full-time with the Company in 2017. Since, our Company has grown to 12 employees and we have become known for executing multi-six-figure weddings in Virginia. When I am not designing weddings, you will find my family and I enjoying local restaurants, breweries, and enjoying the downtown Historic Williamsburg area.
